Can you give me your best advice on gaining grant money? Web sites, government avenues, etc. Thanks.

I would start with Foundation Center (http://www.foundationcenter.org) for tips on searching and writing. But in my book, money to support general operating funds and clinician education (including travel) is best sought locally. Community foundations, hospital auxiliaries and other local charitable organizations. Don’t forget considering fundraising, rather than grantwriting. Churches, fraternities and sororities, Rotarians–they can be great places to solicit smaller donations that can be used flexibly. And don’t discount using social media (see the sustainability site: http://www.nsvrc.org/SANE-blog and the 10/16/09 post for more ideas).
