New Eve Ensler @ TED

Guess where I am not today? If you said Washington DC, you are correct. Because the travel gods not only ignored any prayers, they clearly laughed at those prayers, tossed them on the floor and then did a happy dance all over them. The good news is I have an unexpected 3 days at home, so I won’t complain about that. That those 3 days will be spent glued to computer and Blackberry, well, ma nishtana (מה נשתנה).

I suspect many of you are snowed in, so I’m posting something a bit less academic today: Eve Ensler’s recent appearance at TED (warning: video plays automatically), discussing sexual violence in its various forms and her interactions with girls around the globe who have survived. Seeing as it’s almost V-Day, I figured this would be an excellent item to begin the week. You can also check out her newest book, and the related web content supporting her work with girls.

I really enjoyed watching this! Thank you for sharing it! I encourage everyone to take the time to watch it. I almost stopped it when I saw the length (19 minutes)but it was worth it.
