Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is right around the corner (May 8th), and there are plenty of ways to recognize the important women in your life while also benefiting some worthy organizations. If you are looking for something special, check out some of these ideas:

Futures Without Violence (formerly the Family Violence Prevention Fund) is one of the charities of choice in Macy’s Mother’s Day Facebook e-card campaign. Create a custom e-card, and Macy’s will donate $5 (up to $400K).

JWI has their Send a Mother’s Day Flower Project Card. Each card is $25, and the donation allows JWI to send Mother’s Day bouquets to shelters across the US and supports their work around domestic violence.

No spare cash? No worries–GEMS is inviting supporters to upload photos of you and your mom, daughter or other amazing women in your world, to be included in this year’s supporter music video, This Is to Mother You.

GlobalGiving has a Mother’s Day Menu–select from a variety of options that allow you to impact the lives of women in Africa, Asia and the Americas. Or purchase a gift card, and let Mom choose the one she’d like to support herself.

Thank you for helping Futures Without Violence win a chance at $400,000 in support of critical programs that are preventing child abuse, teen dating violence, and domestic/sexual violence against women through Macy’s “Thank-a-Mom Movement” Challenge! We really appreciate your support.
