Psychological First Aid

The National Center for Victims of Crime is offering the webinar, Psychological First Aid, June 3rd at 2pm ET. It sounds like a pretty intriguing session, most certainly relevant no matter what type of forensic practice you have. Click through for details:

This presentation will provide an overview of the evidenced-based approach to psychological first aid developed by the National Child Traumatic Stress Network. Although developed by the NCTSN, this approach is designed for children and adults and seeks to reduce the initial distress caused by traumatic events while simultaneously fostering long-term coping. This particular presentation, designed for first responders, will focus primarily on forming a compassionate and non-intrusive connection and methods to calm and orient emotionally distraught victims.
