A small teaser for this month’s Articles of Note: The Family Acceptance Project at San Francisco State University is “the only community research, intervention, education and policy initiative that works to decrease major health and related risks for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth, such as suicide, substance abuse, HIV and homelessness – in [...]

Have you heard? The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued new Sexually Transmitted Disease Treatment Guidelines for 2010. You can find the full document here (PDF). They published it the week before Christmas, but there is a webinar on the new guidelines coming up January 13th.

What could be better on a Monday morning than an STD slideshow? Right. I figure this 1st day back to work post-Christmas, I’d give you all something easy. Especially since so many folks are off this week. Over at Medscape they have this slideshow, and while it’s more diagnosis and management than many of you need, [...]

Over at Medscape, there are a few things of interest I thought I’d share. The 1st is from their roundup of the most read nursing articles of 2010. Not surprisingly, the 2nd most read article of the year was this one on nurses and bullying. Not really a big shock, since it continues to be [...]

The CDC has made available audio recordings from this spring’s National STD Prevention Conference. Seeing as how STDs are ALWAYS popular on this site, I thought I’d post this. Links lead to PubMed abstracts; from there you can choose what’s [...]

Between CCAW in Dallas (fantastic and more than 700 attendees) and a court martial that had me sequestered without internet, last week was a wash in terms of getting much done. Finally, though, it’s time for March’s Articles of Note. All [...]

February 14, 2010 | Leave a Comment

In my continuing quest to provide better access to free CME/CEUs for FHO readers, I decided to trawl through Medscape tonight and round up 20 offerings that can be completed quickly and easily. A couple caveats, though: 1.) not all of them are for RNs–physician and midlevel only CEs are marked accordingly; 2.) these things [...]

All of these are from the late January/February/March issues and electronic previews. As always, please keep in mind this in no way a comprehensive list; simply items that [...]
