How SARTs Discuss Cases

The Oregon Attorney General’s Sexual Assault Task Force is hosting a SART-focused webinar: What Can We Talk About? Considerations for How SART Teams Discuss Sexual Assault Cases. The webinar will be August 17th from 11am-noon, PT. The session will be presented by Laura Williams, MPA, National Technical Assistance Project Director, Sexual Violence Justice Institute (SVJI), Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault, St. Paul, MN. Advanced registration is required.

From the announcement:

“Protocols or not, the complexity of responding to incidents of sexual assault ensures that gaps, changes, or emerging problems will continually arise and need to be addressed. Problem solving can and should be a team building process.  Specific case examples of what is and is not working is information we need (and want) to help improve responses.

This workshop will discuss at least three approaches to how teams might learn from cases (system consultation, case review, and case management) with consideration for the legal, political, and safety implications of these conversations. The purpose and  process of each approach will be covered along with examples of how SART teams have been using them.”
