The Social MEDia Course

So how cool is this? Yesterday, during a break between presentations, I was talking with a group of participants (one of whom was live tweeting my sessions) about my hope to see more nurses embrace Twitter and other types of social media for professional use. Many of my advocate colleagues do a fantastic job using social media for information dissemination, publicizing events, etc., and I would love for clinicians, especially nurses, to do the same.

While eating my lunch today, I was scrolling through my Twitter feed, when I came across this:

Turns out a physician in Hungary adapted a course he was teaching into a free global e-course. There are numerous presentations that can be viewed, and badges on the different topics earned through passing the related tests. Once all the badges are earned, the user can obtain a certificate for completion of the full course. It’s an extremely cool idea, and I’m looking forward to exploring the different subjects.
