DV/IPV Sexual Assault Testimony

Since Last We Spoke, 3/11/13

This weekend gave us a glimpse of spring here in the DC area, so I spent as much time as possible outside. However, I am prepping for a quick trip to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area (hope to some of you there–we’ll be talking about testimony, one of my favorite subjects!), so I wasn’t entirely unplugged. Here’s a look at some of what I’ve been reading since last we spoke:

Sir Patrick Stewart: ‘Violence Against Women Is Learned’ (Jezebel)

The Relationship Between Abortion And Violence Against Women (Medical News Today)

Women in Combat: Military Must Prioritize Sexual Assault Prevention (policymic)

The Right to Counsel, Badly Battered at 50 (NY Times)

Projections of the Long-Term Growth of the Registered Nurse Workforce: A Regional Analysis (Nursing Economics—Free Full Text PDF)

“Nice legs, get in the trunk”: Thousands of women experience street harassment on a daily basis – but now they are #shoutingback (Yahoo News UK)

WMATA taking steps to curb sexual harassment (Greater Greater Washington)

What your doctor isn’t telling you (Washington Post)

Sexual Violence Against Women Down 64 Percent In Decade, But Worrisome Rape Trends Remain (Huffington Post)

BTW, I’m actually reading a book right now that might interest many of you:
