Trauma-Specific Treatment in the Context of Domestic Violence

Apologies for missing a post yesterday, but I spent a really lovely day with a group of (mostly) forensic nurses from the Southwest Ohio/Kentucky area, and so it just never happened. Back today, though, with a newly released publication from the National Center on Domestic Violence, Trauma and Mental Health:

A Systematic Review of Trauma-Focused Interventions for Domestic Violence Survivors (PDF) is available for download. I have been reading it this morning. Aside from providing some insight into one aspect of the healthcare response to this patient population, I think it also provides some food for thought regarding the importance of our advocacy colleagues in collaborating for better patient outcomes (not news, just further emphasizes that point), and for those of us who are not mental health practitioners, working within and our agencies and with our multidisciplinary teams to better identify appropriate referral resources.
