Intersection of Stalking and Sexual Assault

The National Judicial Education Program is offering a webinar on the intersection of stalking and sexual assault. The session will be held July 17th from 3-4:30 ET. You can register here.

From the announcement:

The Intersection of Stalking and Sexual Assault will address the often overlooked link between the stalking and sexual assault. Stalking is a crime that often co-occurs with other crimes, such as domestic violence and sexual assault. Research supports that there is a connection between stalking and sexual assault – both pre- and post-assault. In this webinar, we will explore the nature and dynamics of stalking, focusing on the intersection of stalking and sexual assault. We will also discuss ways in which this information should impact our responses to and services for victims.

Presenter: Michelle M. Garcia—Director of the Stalking Resource Center at the National Center for Victims of Crime.

Audience: This session will provide useful information and strategies for a wide variety of professionals, including prosecutors and other lawyers, law enforcement, medical professionals, judges, victim advocates, journalists and communications professionals, and others who interact with and write about sexual assault victims.
