The National Health Collaborative on Violence and Abuse is hosting a webinar, The Impact of Family Violence on Military Families. The session will be held November 14th from 10-11:30 PT. CMEs are available for docs; sadly none available for nurses. Registration is free of charge.

Description: An increasing number of families face the unique challenges of deployment of a family member.  This webinar will explore the intersection of military service and family violence, and provide guidance for health care providers in both military and civilian settings who care for military families. 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the impact of the stress of military service on psychological health
  2. Review the research on interpersonal violence and child maltreatment in military families
  3. Discuss risk assessment and strategies for prevention and management of risk of family violence in military families
  4. Review practice and policies on the development and promotion of resilience in military families
