1. How about a section on forensic website links of other disciplines as well as healthcare.

2. I use the awesome Articles of Note. I request the articles from my institution library and I send the articles to my peers and colleagues in the state ENA chapter forensic when a topic of interest is discussed. I LOVE the Articles of Note!!

I always read the info on this website. I have gotten many great articles and links to info that have broadened my knowledge and padded my resource list. I also note the suggested books and just finished Scott Berkun’s book “Confessions of a Public Speaker”. I made notes along the way so I could improve my speaking skills. I am currently half way through Bird by Bird, which I am also enjoying. I have always been a reader, and secretely dreamed of writing novels. Who knows…

We use the information on FHO to educate our staff and keep ourselves current. FHO is an AMAZING resource and we do so appreciate all you do.

This website is so well done that the only thing I can really think of adding would be some sort of job search specific to forensic healthcare. I know a link would likely suffice but perhaps having a section within this site where people can post opportunities or search for a job would be helpful.

I know I only had to answer one of the questions, but I’d like to also add that I frequently forward your daily posts to my SANEs, especially when there is an upcoming webinar and also forensic conferences. I also appreciate the updated clinical guides. Sometimes I see it here first before I get it anywhere else. So thank YOU! Keep doing what you’re doing. You help so many of us. Happy Anniversary!

Congratulations!! Amazing how fast the time has gone…FHO has truely become “the” place to send people for things like: The Clinical Guides, the Articles of Note and most important….TEN Things! Again, many, many congratulations- looking forward to seeing what the future of the site will be…exciting!

I’ll be honest, how I use FHO professionally is I let you do the work ; ) I don’t have to go searching for good articles…you’ve already done the work. I love your comments and your humor.

I would like to see some information that would help SARTs. Even something as simple as the right way to take minutes at a meeting. I know IAFN did this one time….maybe for the Chapter Officers. I just think there are some basics that we need help with.

Thank you for doing this work. I look forward to the next five years.

I use your articles of note to stay current on the newest research that is out there. I love having it all there together for me instead of having to go out and find it. This has been so helpful!

1. I would like to see a library section with articles separated out by topic: strangulation (list of articles), DFSA (list of articles), etc… to make it a little easier to access the particular topic you are studying.

2. I use the FHO site to start my day in the office. I read your posts, and do my best to stay current with the research and practice going on in the world. Thanks for that!

Happy 5th Birthday. We, our team use your articles to gain knowledge. I print most of them to read in our down times. Your articles are always very informative and well done. Thank you for keeping us updated and informed. Can’t wait to see what you will be posting in your next five years.

I always look forward to opening up my email from FHO. There is interesting, informative, relevant and sometimes entertaining posts and resources. I love the website with it ease of use. I can often search for past articles and references using the side-bar and hyperlinks. There is a wealth of information at my fingertips.Congratulations FHO, 5 years and counting!

I have encouraged my staff & community partners to join FHO for the great information & uplifting offerings. I’ve used items from FHO as the basis of continuing education at staff meetings, to improve my presentations to the community & to re-charge myself in this difficult work. Thank you so much for this site and have a great additional five years, and more 🙂

Congratulations on your first 5 years! I regularly use FHO to keep myself and my colleagues well informed. I have read many of the recommended books and articles of note. I’ve watched recommended webinars and YouTube videos. I’ve downloaded clinical guides for reference. I’ve even purchased some of your favorite things for gifts for friends and colleagues. I am continually enlightened and refreshed with all that FHO provides. Thank you – looking forward to the next 5 years.

Congratulations on 5 years! I visit this site on a regular basis. I read many of the articles in an effort to stay updated and informed. I always download the “Articles of Note” and I also look many topics up on FHO. I also read many of the Expert Witness materials. I love this site! Thank you for sharing all this information with your readers.

Thanks for you contribution to the world of forensics. I use your site to keep up with current research and publications. I pass on some of the information in a newsy/updates email I send to my state’s SANEs and I encourage others to follow your blog.

For suggestions: keep doing what you’re doing. I love all the places you go–wide ranging topics, interesting websites, great gadgets and stuff, ponderous thoughts and lighthearted insight!

Congradulations on 5 years. I was turned onto this site a year ago and love it. I have shared with other Sanes. To add or improve maybe video clips on different forensic techniques in evidence collection.
Great job keep it up

Happy 5th Birthday to FHO! I remember sitting in our office talking about the “potential” for this project. As usual, your vision proved right on target. Comments from our colleagues throughout the world speak clearly of the value of this site. Personally I especially appreciate the non-clinical resources that provide a context for working not just in our own clinical world, but empowers us with tools to expand our professional influence beyond the walls of mainstream healthcare. Can’t wait to see what is on the horizon.
Congratulations my friend!

Congratulations on your 5 years. I would love to see an actual example of an expert report used for a criminal trial. All the book (I could find) have civil examples. But i think this is the best resource and thank you for all you do!!!!

I use the information on this website, to get the latest information on different topics. This website has been invaluable when I am studying. I have been able to pass on relevant information to my peers.
Congratulations on reaching 5 years.

Tell us one way that you use FHO professionally:

As busy as I am between my job and family, I find it difficult to stay on top of the rapid pace of changes in the Forensic Medical world like I should. We all know how important it is to read journals and stay up-to-date on topics in the field, but life gets in the way! So I personally love the email updates that make reading up on Forensic Healthcare topics a part of my daily routine. And it’s great to know that I can always go back and search for that article that impressed me so much or start here for information I am wondering about. A great website I recommend to all my collegues! Happy 5th Anniversary!!

I always learn something new from FHO. In my position as Program Management Specialist for the Washington Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs, I am always looking for timely and useful information to share with program managers across the state. FHO is a trusted, valued resource. Happy Anniversary, and thank you!

Its hard to believe its been 5 years! FHO is THE site to use when needing reference materials or articles. I really enjoy your highly useful information and I recommend it to all new SANEs. I particularly love the 10 Things. While not always healthcare related, I find the information extremely useful. Happy Anniversary!

I keep most of the emails so I will have the links to the articles you mention. I enjoy the column and it is nice to know there is someone as busy as I am.
Best and Happy New Year to you and you spouse.

Happy Anniversary. I read every update. I really like case studies and would love to see more of those. I have copied the article: The Role of Medical Forensic Evidence in Sexual Assault Prosecution and handed it out to our SANE team. Thank you so much for all you do

FHO is the best way to keep up on current material on a variety of topics. I love how it provides information in so many different areas of forensic nursing. I use it to inform and update the other nurses in our program. Have ‘attended’ many of the webinars. I would like to see information and ideas for smaller programs on funding possibilities from outside sources when you are hospital based. Thank you for what you do!

Thank you so much for all you do. I’m a pediatrician and forensic doctor in the Netherlands and am very happy to browse around on FHO. On the other hand a bit sad to see how much we still have work on back here, the site is a great stimulance for me to keep going. Thanks again from Amsterdam

I utilize FHO professionally to keep up to date on the “happenings” as well as find great articles, webinars, etc to share with my staff. I am a SANE and thus the majority of my staff is on call and this is a second job for them…it is great to have FHO as a way to help get them varied ways on the ever changing stream of forensic information we need to stay up to date on to do our jobs.

Thank you so much for FHO! I check it daily and see it as a way to see everything going on in the Forensic world!
