From the registration:

For years, multidisciplinary teams have worked together in the field of child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse and human trafficking.

Multidisciplinary teams have been extremely successful across the United States because at the heart of a MDT is a group of professionals from diverse disciplines who come together to provide comprehensive assessment and consultation in abuse cases. While their primary purpose is typically to help team members resolve difficult cases, teams may fulfill a variety of additional functions – including implementation of a new law.

Currently 40 States have now passed some form of a felony strangulation law to increase awareness, enhance offender accountability and victim safety. But most states have failed to implement their new strangulation law effectively.

In this webinar, a panel from Shasta County will discuss the development and operation of a new emerging multi-disciplinary team – the Strangulation Response Team.

The Panel will discuss why their group came together, who is part of their team, their goals, challenges and recent accomplishments since their Strangulation Response Team was formed.

Gael Strack will share best practices currently emerging across the United States and hopefully inspire you to do more.
