Articles of Note: May 2025 Edition

Happy May, good people. I missed April, but a month plus at Fort Cavazos, plus ten days before that in Korea, meant I was just barely treading water. Now I’m home, and I have started a new job (!), so back to regular posts for the time being. This month’s Articles of Note is lengthy, but in the best possible way–a ton of IPV research and clinical care literature, a few good strangulation articles, plenty of child abuse and sexual assault articles, and there’s even something on testimony this month. Links take you back to PubMed (which appears to be stable for the time being), except where indicated.

Registration just opened for the annual IAFN conference, so I hope to see you there. I am doing a beginner’s testimony preconference workshop (for true beginners: read zero testimony experience) and an experienced expert testimony postconference workshop that I think will be a blast. Both will be highly interactive, and the postcon will examine consulting and testifying for both prosecution and defense. There’s still room if you haven’t registered yet, but there’s a cap, so don’t wait.

Happy reading–see you back here next month.
