Articles of Note: October 2025

Greetings, friends–apologies for being MIA. Things have been–hectic. I write this from a very luxe seat on the Amtrak coming home from NYC, where I had a delightful time with colleagues today at John Jay and their 6th Annual Forensic Science Symposium. They were nice enough to invite me to deliver the keynote, but the real treat was catching up with a few friends I haven’t seen in a minute who also attended. The best of forensic nursing is spending time with colleagues who uplift and make space for the good work happening all around us.

It’s time once again for Articles of Note, our (usually) monthly romp through the peer-reviewed literature. Because I missed last month, what with conference, etc., I have tried to make this month’s especially fruitful. I believe I am delivering. I am not going to highlight too much, but there are a couple of really interesting child abuse articles in there, what feels like a bit of a throw-back with a solid DFSA piece, which we don’t see a ton of these days, and plenty of IPV and strangulation to keep many of you reading for a bit.

Happy reading; protect your peace. I’ll see you back here next month.

Jen
