We are officially the big age of 17 years here at FHO. I assure you a lot has changed since FHO was birthed as a nerdy little WordPress blog in the early oughts. For one, there are *a lot* more of you, and for that, I am always eternally grateful. 2025 was a tough year for the profession, but 2026 is shaping up to bring us some good things (more on that soon), so I am moving into this year with optimism and excitement. One thing that remains a constant is Articles of Note, which this month is on the lighter side–just not a huge amount in the literature that really grabbed me. Still, I think you’ll find there’s enough to keep your attention. Check out a few articles on diagnostics in child abuse (McNamara, et al. and Mohammed, et al.); an interesting testimony exploration by Ferreira, et al.; and some new strangulation in pregnancy research by McDonald, et al.
