Multidisciplinary Strategies for Forensic Compliance

The Sexual Violence Justice Institute is hosting a webinar on Auguts 27th from 12-1:30 CDT: Multidisciplinary Strategies for Forensic Compliance. The session is limited to 200 so if you’re interested, register ASAP.

From the site:

Are victims of sexual assault in your jurisdiction able to have the medical forensic exam without reporting the assault to law enforcement? If so, what happens next? Where are the evidentiary kits from those exams stored and how long are they stored? Do victims in your jurisdiction know how to convert that kit to a standard report if they choose to involve law enforcement later on? Has your jurisdiction ever prosecuted a case like this? Questions like this are usually referred to as questions of “forensic compliance. This webinar will enable participants to better utilize their multidisciplinary teams to tackle the complex challenges associated with forensic compliance mandates, and take their teams to the next level by pursuing the spirit of compliance, not just the letter of the law. Participants will see examples of model policies on forensic compliance developed by the Sexual Violence Justice Institute (SVJI) at the Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MNCASA). Jessica Van Iperen, a team coordinator, will share how her team used a series of decision points to intentionally and effectively work through some of the complex challenges associated with forensic compliance mandates.
