Lethality Assessment Protocol

The Family Justice Center Alliance is hosting a webinar on the Lethality Assessment Protocol: The Maryland Model Implemented in Strafford County. The session is scheduled for October 14th from 9-10:30 PT. You can register for the session here.

Webinar description:

The Maryland LAP is a model for connecting survivors of domestic violence with confidential advocacy.  The protocol is being implemented throughout New Hampshire and there have been very positive results since bringing it to Strafford County.  This protocol focuses on connecting high-risk victims with advocates directly from the scene of a domestic violence incident, during their first contact with the criminal justice system.  This protocol connects victims with essential services and safety planning when they need support the most.

While victim safety is the primary focus of the protocol, it also forges and strengthens the relationships between advocates, law enforcement and other partners thus sending a powerful message of support to the survivors.  This presentation will give an overview of the protocol, how it is being used, the basics of how it has been implemented and the results so far.
