Clinical Utility of An IPV Screening Tool for Female VA Patients

Mark your calendar: the inaugural Forensic Journal Club is coming up 12 February. Find all the information you need to participate here.

The VA Women’s Health Research Consortium (PDF) has an awesome webinar coming up next week: Clinical Utility of an Intimate Partner Violence Screening Tool for Female VA Patients. The session will be held on February 12th from 3-4 pm ET and is free of charge. You do know my happy place is the intersection of research and practice, so if I’m able I will be attending.

From the announcement:

Presented by: Katherine M. Iverson, Ph.D., Women’s Health Sciences Division of the National Center for PTSD & Center for Organization, Leadership, and Management Research (COLMR) at VA Boston Healthcare System, and Boston University School of Medicine

In this Cyberseminar, Dr. Iverson will:
1) provide a rationale for conducting routine screenings of female VA patients for experiences of intimate partner violence (IPV),
2) present data from a study conducted in VISN 1 evaluating the clinical utility of an IPV screening tool for use with female VA patients, and
3) discuss the implications of these findings, along with the potential benefits of implementing IPV screening and response programming within VHA.
