Happy 6th Anniversary FHO! (And guess what’s new…?)

Today is the 6th anniversary of FHO, and it’s hard to believe we’ve been plugging away this long. What started out as a place to put stuff I came across has morphed into a true community of professionals, hundreds of whom visit daily (and almost a thousand of you subscribe–not too shabby for such a niche site). It’s still a nerdy little site (in my eyes, at least), but I am hoping to implement a large scale redesign in 2015 that will allow for some expanded content. All of that takes money and time, of course–all I can say is that more will be revealed.

The other big thing happening is that today is the 1st day of a new gig for me. As of today I am temporarily stepping away from my consulting business to spend the year working with the Army on a variety of projects related to strengthening and creating consistency in their healthcare response to sexual assault. It will be a full-time job, and because of this, I will not be taking on any new work in 2015. Please be assured that any commitments I’ve already made for teaching or consulting work are still on my calendar and will be honored.

I will return to my own independent consulting work in 2016. Until then, you’ll still be able to find me here– folks looking for referrals or any other type of assistance can contact me through the site as usual, or through my personal email: jenifer.markowitz@gmail.com.

2015 looks like it will be a challenging and exciting year. I’m looking forward to the incredible work that needs to get done. And I’m happy I’ll still have an outlet in FHO, because there’s much good stuff in the queue that I think you’ll find valuable. Stay tuned…
