For those of you working on and with colleges and universities in the US, VAWA amendments to the Clery Act go into effect July 1st. The Clery Center is hosting a webinar to review those amendments on July 7th at 2pm ET (you can also check out an infographic of the changes here [PDF]). Click through for details:

From the site:

In 2013, the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act (VAWA) expanded the Clery Act to include additional rights for survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. Institutions must have updated policies and procedures in place by July 1, 2015.

Presented by the Office on Violence Against Women, join the Clery Center for a conversation on:

  1. Frequently asked questions regarding the changes to the Clery Act
  2. How to reflect your updated policies within this year’s annual security report
  3. Things to consider when drafting written information for victims of these crimes as well as for all students and employees.
